The European Charter for Researchers in the European framework to attract and retain research, innovation and entrepreneurial talents in Europe.
Gap Analysis Survey

On the 7th of July 2005 the University of Camerino (UNICAM) hosted the solemn signing ceremony of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment by Italian Universities, adopted by the European Commission on March 2005. Almost 20 years after that day, UNICAM, together with many other European universities, is still actively engaged in the implementation of the principles contained in these important strategic policy recommendations.

On the 18th of December 2023 the Council adopted the ‘Recommendation on a European framework attract and retain research, innovation and entrepreneurial talents in Europe’ (C/2023/1640)1, updating the structure and contents of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct by adopting a new ‘European Charter for Researchers’, which replaces the previous one (Annex II of the Recommendation). The main novelties that have been introduced reflect the changes and needs emerged in the European Research Area in topics such as open science, gender equality, e-skills, and research evaluation, which contribute to the improvement of researchers' working conditions and to supporting excellence in research and innovation in Europe.

With this survey we want to understand what the perception of researchers at all levels of their careers and all staff supporting research is about the application of the European Charter principles in the context of our University.  The results of this survey will help implement and promote the initiatives to support researchers within the framework of UNICAM’s Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).

Filling in the present questionnaire will be ANONYMOUS and we encourage all of you to express your opinion on the degree of the European Charter principles’ implementation.
